Patricia was born in Scotland, and now resides in Asheville, North Carolina, where she studios in the River Arts District.

Her first memory of painting was with the gift of a simple ‘painting by numbers’ kit for oils, she was only eight years old at the time. Patricia eventually attended Art College in Lincoln, England. Upon graduating she worked in the graphic arts field, designing for major British companies in the field of branding. She later managed retail displays for specialty stores throughout England.

After several years of living overseas, in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, her husband’s career moves brought them to America. Her life of experiencing diverse cultures has influenced her work in both subject matter and technique. Using her preferred medium of oil paint, she transforms shapes, color and light onto a blank surface. Patricia’s art provides a glimpse into scenes of everyday life. Animals, still life, interiors and people benefit from the way she views and interprets them, drawing the onlooker into the scenes she paints.

She paints and sells her work in the River Arts District of Asheville and through websites such as “Fine Art America”. She is featured in galleries, including locally at the ‘Mountain Nest Gallery’ in Black Mountain NC.

Her works have been selected for the NBC set of “Parenthood”, and featured in the “Art for the Traditional Home” series of books. She has received a number of commissions for her art, both in the USA and overseas where her work is displayed in private and corporate collections. Four large pieces of her work were purchased in 2015 for the HGTV “Urban Oasis” TV series, and featured in their home renovation project in West Asheville.
